Going for 3 hours+ "Importing product catalog and installing"
Going for 3 hours+ "Importing product catalog and installing" on a brand new WP 4.8 cPanel install, no plugins activated. Unfortunately can't comment on any other features since it's not progressing. Was hoping it would be quick and fast since my agenda is full, but no dice.

We were using INPUT_SERVER and it is unreliable so we switched to FastCGI mode

Found a fix for this...
You need to switch back to one of the WP default themes. Then the Activation & Installation stage should run ok (less than 1 min). Once complete, you're then free to switch back to whatever theme you're using.

Im also facing the same issue, stuck at "Importing product catalog and installing".
Tried switching the theme to the default and still the same issue.

I thought this was resolved, but apparently is not. Plugin still won't activate. Still "working" much longer than 10 seconds. This time I used the one in the WP repository, on a new installation of WP with nothing else on it. smh

You're lucky that your agenda was full. Mine was empty and I ended up waiting a whole week!
