Setting up an Office 365 Email Account

Congratulations! You've now got the best email and productivity tools out there with Office 365 from GoDaddy. Now that you have the goods, let's get down to the important stuff: creating your email account(s).

In just a few simple steps, we'll guide you through the set up of your new account so you can take your business to the next level.

To Set Up Office 365 on a Domain at GoDaddy Without Previous Email

If your domain is in a GoDaddy account and it doesn't already have an email account on it, you can follow these instructions to get your account up and running.

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Office 365 Email and Productivity, and then click Launch next to the plan you want to use.
  3. Enter your information in the space provided, and then click Create.

To Set Up Office 365 on a Domain at GoDaddy With Previous Email

If you already have an email account on a domain name that's in a GoDaddy account, you can follow these instructions to get your account up and running.

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Office 365 Email and Productivity, and then click Launch next to the plan you want to use.
  3. Enter your information in the space provided, and then click Create and continue.
  4. WARNING:The next step changes where you will receive emails and it can take up to 24 hours to be completed. By proceeding, you will no longer receive emails in your old email account.

  5. When you're ready to make the switch, click Ready to switch.

To Set Up Office 365 on a Domain at Another Registrar

If your domain is with another registrar, you need to update your DNS to begin receiving email. Follow these instructions to get your account up and running.

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Office 365 Email and Productivity, and then click Launch next to the plan you want to use.
  3. Enter your information in the space provided, and then click Create and continue.
  4. WARNING:The next step changes where you will receive emails and it can take up to 24 hours to be completed. By proceeding, you will no longer receive emails in your old email account.

  5. To start receiving mail, you'll need to update your domain's DNS. Click Help me fix this next to your email account, and then update your domain's DNS with the appropriate records.

    WARNING: If your domain is registered through GoDaddy, and you already have an email account set up on your domain, this next step stops all incoming and outgoing mail from your old email account, immediately. It could take up to 24 hours before you start receiving emails to your new account.

  6. After you've updated your DNS click Done.

You're all set! Now you can take full advantage of your Office 365 account and all its productive glory.
